StuntIQ may receive footage that includes minors. This policy explains the expectations for authorized use during beta.
Version: 1.0 Effective Date: March 2026 Applies to: All video uploads containing minor athletes
StuntIQ is used by cheerleading gyms, athletic programs, and sports organizations whose athletes frequently include minors — individuals under 18 years of age. This policy establishes the specific requirements and protections that apply when videos containing minor athletes are uploaded to and processed by the StuntIQ platform.
This policy is mandatory for all account holders who upload or may upload videos containing minors.
This policy applies to:
When a video containing a minor athlete is uploaded to StuntIQ, the following data is collected from that video:
The AI pipeline extracts the following from every detected person in the video, including minors:
This data is body-position and movement data derived from the visual appearance of the athlete. It does not include name, age, school, or other identity information unless such information appears in the video itself.
Gym administrators, coaches, and other account holders are responsible for ensuring that appropriate consent has been obtained before uploading videos containing minor athletes.
Specifically, by uploading a video containing a minor athlete, the account holder represents that:
We recommend that gym administrators include language similar to the following in their enrollment paperwork:
"By enrolling in this program, I consent to video recording of my child's participation in practices and performances. These recordings may be uploaded to StuntIQ, an AI sports analysis platform. StuntIQ uses automated computer vision to analyze videos, including extracting body position data (pose keypoints) from each detected athlete. This data may be used by StuntIQ's operator (SkillGrade Labs LLC) to improve its AI sports analysis models. Raw video footage is stored securely and is not publicly accessible. I understand that I may request deletion of my child's video content by contacting the gym."
This is provided as guidance only and does not constitute legal advice. Organizations should consult their own legal counsel to ensure their consent practices comply with applicable law.
StuntIQ does not collect data directly from minor athletes. The platform is accessed exclusively by adult account holders (coaches, gym administrators) who upload content on behalf of their organizations.
In addition to the general security measures described in the Privacy Policy, SkillGrade Labs LLC applies the following specific protections to video data containing minors:
Video files and AI outputs are accessible only to:
No other users can access videos from another organization.
Data derived from videos containing minor athletes is never used for advertising, behavioral profiling, or any commercial purpose other than operating and improving the StuntIQ platform.
Videos containing minor athletes are never served from public URLs. All access is through authenticated, short-lived signed links generated by our backend.
When AI-derived features from videos are used for model training:
Parents, guardians, or gym administrators may request deletion of a specific video containing a minor athlete, or consent revocation for that specific video. In the current beta, these actions operate at the individual-video level and remove the application-managed active data for that video from the product.
Depending on the location of your organization and the athletes, the following legal frameworks may apply:
| Law | Applicability |
|---|---|
| COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) | Applies to collection of personal information from or about children under 13 in the United States |
| Illinois BIPA | May apply to body geometry/pose data collected from Illinois residents |
| Texas Capture or Use of Biometric Identifier Act | May apply to biometric identifiers collected in Texas |
| State student privacy laws (e.g., SOPIPA) | May apply if athletes are students and data is shared in educational contexts |
| FERPA | May apply if participating organizations are educational institutions |
Account holders are responsible for ensuring their use of StuntIQ complies with the laws applicable to their organization and athlete population.
SkillGrade Labs LLC is committed to cooperating with legal obligations and will respond to lawful requests related to minor athlete data protection.
